The short answer is no; Ross Cameron has never gone to a learning institution to learn how to trade. In fact, the trading gurú did an utterly unrelated college degree, which he has never used to date.
Studying as a Teacher
With Ross Cameron’s success in the trading world, many have wondered where he got his strategies from. His interest in the trading world was picked after learning that his cousins were reaping the benefits of their great-great uncle’s investment in the stock market.
He tried out his hand at trading in 2001 using an Ameritrade account that did not do so well. This discouraged Ross Cameron, and he decided to go to Vermont College and study to get his teacher certification.
His idea was to become a ceramics or art teacher as he was passionate about it. Ross Cameron had to move back home in 2005 after his father was diagnosed with lung cancer and worked in a gas station. He developed his hobby of fixing old cars at Sunoco gas station, which he still holds dear. After his father died, he decided to finish college to make his late father proud and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2009. He has never used the degree.
After his father’s estate was split between him and his siblings, the natural born leader invested his $100000 share into trading. Though his stock market trading journey has had ups and downs, Ross Cameron has become one of the most successful day traders today. He is also credited for transforming a small investment into a million-dollar trading account.
